17Track.net is Tor safest compatible

by /u/[deleted] · 0 votes · 2023-04-28 16:37:00

I'd never use the AustPost tracking for a Darknet parcel.

It's not Tor compatible so they're looking for information Tor won't give them or an Australian IP address.

It's better to avoid using the clearnet for anything Darknet related.

If you see someone say "We've got it" you know they haven't.

"Received by our network" is correct.

its okay to track your parcel at some point. it would be fucking weird if you didn't. you know people track their mail all the time? my wife loves tracking her online shopping. its as exciting for her as us getting drugs in the mail I can assure you. if you load the tracking number in the auspost app you'll even get notifications about your order so you dont have to constantly check. too many of you trying to be James Bond for an ounce of MDMA or a few grams of ice... they want the cunt you bought it from, not you. I dont know many vendors that hand out tracking like candy either except for a handful of vendors

I wait 6 days before I ask for tracking. I extend the autofinalize and advise the Vendor that I haven't received the parcel and that I've extended.

Considering most threat models here is just "buying a gram of pingas for a party" I can't see it being a risk to track via Auspost using a VPN. 17track plus VPN would be the way to go unless you're ordering huge amounts of product? The bigger that risk is vendors sending your tracking number using cleartext (this happened to me recently). So, best not to ask for tracking until after two weeks imo and ask them to use your PGP key instead of cleartext.

I've never had an encrypted tracking number sent to me. I've set up a VPN to connect to a business network. Tor tell me not to use a VPN. Whonix tell me not to use a VPN. I've never used one where I wasn't running it.

you should not be using Tor to track your packages even with a thirdparty service lmfao that will get them marked so fast

You don't think clearnet services will give up info to the feds? If I had time I can find a very interesting report from HSI on how the flagged a package in a federal case was like 2019-2020

i'm sure they would. but not many clearnet services can track your tor usage. your isp maybe. using tor doesn't alert clearnet sites mate. unless you are under surveillance for some other reason that gets you looked out. using tor to check a third party tracking site with tor wont get the package flagged.

what? every clearnet site has the ability to detect you're using tor. it's trivial nowadays. if they're using cloudflare it will automatically show up in their logs as "T1 - Tor". you can get a list of every tor exit node's ip here: https://check.torproject.org/torbulkexitlist

cloudflare will just generally block tor exit nodes - not allow them through for the logs to detect. even so - auspost isn't going to flag every tor user that checks tracking. someone rogue could just check a bunch tracking numbers through tor and overload the system if that was the case. it's like saying they flag every express envelope because it's obvious it's drugs - that's not how LE work mate.
