Everything except unsafe browser is forced through tor on Tails- any communication a program tries to do without going through tor is blocked. Be careful about using programs like Telegram and wickr though. The source code for wickr isn't available, which restricts the ability of people to audit the code for bugs or backdoors. Telegram I'm less sure about (the code for the client is available), but the recommendation around here is generally Signal.
