As many of you know, we have been working behind the scenes since beginning of the year. As I mentioned previously, we can't express with words how humble and proud we are of having become your main market and the only way we can show our appreciattion to all of you is to continue improving Abacus, which is becoming step by step in something more than a Darknet market. A platform providing jobs and providing services and products that people need but cannot adquiere SAFELY because of the current laws imposed by local goverments.

Aegis is a search engine and online encyclopedia focused on the emerging field of drugs. The first motivation behind the project is to document in a comprehensive manner all the theory and practices related to drug use and through a friendly and easy interface allow our users to browse and find all the information they need.

The information of Aegis will be shared with the harm reduction project in which Dread is working on and we will collaborate together to reach the most possible users.

Aegis is integrated on Abacus to improve the shopping experience of the user.

Quick answer It is just a codename.

Long Story: We have our road map in which we have planned all the features, changes and improvements that we believe Abacus Market needs to become the marketplace that users really deserve. It is simple like that. We want to make sure Abacus Market is a stable, reliable and fast marketplace which counts with all the necessary and optional features that we can ever need in a FREE marketplace. This features are not intended only on the monitization way, but more oriented in the utilities and safety measures that every marketplace should count with.

We have decided to divide this update. The improvements, additions, and new implementations we have been working since January are going to benefit in a very considerable way the whole community. In other words, once the Moon update is 100% completed, Abacus community and that is all of us: Vendors, buyers, colobarators, reviewers, all Abarians; We will be literally on the moon.



Now that the first part of the update is completed, you can perfectly see we have added, edited and fixed many things but aside from the more obvious changes there have been different internal improvements and many small tweaks which will make the market more intuitive and things easier for both, buyers and vendors. You will discover eventually those small tweaks but some of the biggest changes are the following:

1. Release of our harm reduction platform Aegis. As some of you already know, for us harm reduction is something really important and we really want to make a change in that way. Aegis is still in an early stage but it is fully functional. There you will be able to search substances' information in a NO JS friendly website. The platform will receive more updates in the following months and we hope we can cooperate with several users to improve the knowledge hosted there.

2. Integration of Aegis with Abacus. We had been automaitcally assigned some listings based in the category and several keywords used with a specific substance. You will be able to get harm reduction information about the substance assigned in a new tab.
We encourage to all drug vendors to manually edit their listings to assign each listing to the proper substance name (there is a new option inside the create/edit options to select the substance name for the harm reduction, it features an autocomplete search).
If you have many listings and all of them are about the same substance feel to free to open a ticket and we will assign the substance in all listings for you.

3. Marketplace is fully responsive right now with the exception of two templates for vendors: vendor stats (which is being rewritten and will receive a nice update as request for some vendors) and the featured section (which just for your information, none of vendor ads listed on the homepage paid us a penny and, although we got several requests of people offering us not small amounts of money, we won't charge nobody for ads in the homepage until the new system is released, which we hope it can be shortly done, we will try to have it ready during this month, it will open for all vendors and vendors will be able to spend their money in the most effective way as we will introduce an unique feature).

4. Dark mode is fully implemented in the marketplace once you are logged, you will be able to save your prefence and it will load automatically your preferred theme once you login back.

5. We noticed some buyers were having issues to find their products or had to scroll down each time to the advanced search. We had added to the quick search the sort filter, remember that if you want the most accurate result you must select the "best match" filter.

6. Few improvements had been done to the search, although more improvements will be implemented shortly.

7. The listing template is probably the template that received the [b]biggest update, it supports the harm reduction information tab, you can switch between images without reloading the page, prices of the listing (per unit + desired shipping option) are dynamically updated without js. You will be able to check some vendor's information and also other vendor's products inside the listing template.

8. UTC time is globally available in the entire website.

9. Stealth (if available), quality and delivery information had been added to the information that users can check in the listing and vendor templates. Some other improvements had been added related to the display information available to vendors.

10. PGP's fingerprints had been to orders/sales and profiles to make things easier.

11. Added several anti phishing measures (because this is a non ending cat and mouse game some won't be published but more anti phishing measures will be published). Right now deposit addresses are PGP signed and there is an optional option to disable the qr code + encrypt the signed message address with your PGP (obviously first you need to add a PGP to your account). Although it is an optional feature, we recommend everyone to use it; specially if you are not PGP verifying the url you are using.

12. We have noticed that many of our users did not like captchas and, although we had a different captcha on mind, due to the success that deCaptcha had on Dread for its ease of use we have decided to implement deCaptcha on Abacus for login, messages and tickets (some vendors based in some criteria won't need to fill the captcha when contacting the support). The speed and register captcha had been replaced both with OnionGuard (all credits about OnionGuard go to /u/HugBunter, thank you <3)

13. Message system received an upgrade with a more clean interface + some additional user tags

14. Users' urls had been encrypted since the start to make spam harder but we understand that it can be frustrating not being able to find your vendor when his account is on vacation mode or when he does not have any available product. We have introduced an optional feature in /editprofile where vendors can choose if they want to have their shop visible or not when their account is on vacation mode. By default it is activated and banned vendors will automatically be forced to be listed.

15. Several small direct access had been added for buyers and vendors related to orders/sales management to make things easier.

16. Vendors and buyers can keep easily track of refunds provided to each sale.

17. After several requests vendors can check the current exchange fiat value of the net value of your sale and a small comparison with the paid price.

• Two very important addons to the marketplace as part of the ending of Moon update which will transform the darknet marketplace scene.
• Direct payments.
• FE system improved.

I would say this is just the beginning, but there is not going to be an end. So what can we say? From Abacus we just hope to continue improving and if one day we believe we can't improve any longer, we will just continue improving in some way :) Abacus Project has a lot to give within the years and we are not in a rush, we prefer to do things right than trying to do things fast and not taking into consideration the safety of our users.
