We periodically purge messages from Dread to keep the database sane and limit information disclosure in the event of server compromise. We provide no guarantees on the availability of months old messages (or really any guarantees really).

I actually added an auto purge for conversations that were read over 3 months ago in the update, not sure if you have a cron running also.
