I wish this post didn't have to be made, but it seems we have seen a new wave of extortion and exit scams. With the infamous /d/IncognitoMarket exit scam through extortion, we have seen that people still don't use encryption - which led to many people being at the mercy of merciless dark web marketplace administrators. A terrible thing.

Recently, because of the above mentioned event, a vendor has decided to perform the same technique against their customers. A warning has been issued on /post/e3bb9c105368b9ba0cfe by the one and only /u/newbieforever2018. A vendor named /u/bussing has been sending messages to clients (/post/fe6cfd064929072223ff) threatening to dox them, releasing their order information going back to 2022 on Archetyp. The vendor demands half a million dollars (500000 USD) in XMR in exchange for keeping their mouth shut.

But I can assure you we will bleed you slowly and release information maybe 10 accounts at a time over a lengthy amount of time and make a show of it over dozens of Dread and reddit groups. You can try to delete posts as fast as you see them. But more will pop up over different communities. Sowing fear towards your community and those who look on. Sadly the names involved will suffer the most but in the end their pain will be on your hands.

It is now, more than ever, important to encrypt everything with PGP - to prevent from marketplaces snooping on your private details - and to do vetting on the vendors you use. Nothing you can do will ensure vendors don't store customer addresses, but it is not news that sellers with history of being banned, having poor reviews, or public scandals, may store private client details.

Please, everyone, be careful. Keep your house clean, be careful who you order from, in what quantities - and make sure you encrypt your details, to prevent getting doxed by such people. There will always be morons like this who try and extort people, but if we stay together and enforce a no-negotiation policy, they won't be as inclined to try.
