The decline of the darknet

by /u/Giffie · 0 votes · 2024-04-28 11:41:00

Seems like the darknet scene has been taking a hit lately.

But why the nosedive?
Could it be all those market exit scams, leaving users feeling burned and skeptical?
Or maybe it's the rise of drug vendors sliding into Telegram?

Even with all that drama, there's still a bunch of folks curious about the dark web.
But let's face it, we're still a pretty tight-knit community.

Do you guys think the darknet will grow back to where it was?

It's all part of the PR 😉 But on a serious note the darknet market scene did take a massive hit in the space of 6 months? T2D Exit Bohemia Exit Incognito Exit m00nkey Exit Cypher? Still not confirmed but possible Exit As you see most of these being superlist also, so the darknet has taken a big hit, but no doubt there will be new marketplaces popping up to replace them. ~ UKDistribution

Ahahah fr Yea its a fact that most markets went down, but the costumers are still here on other markets, and the ones that got tired of exits will be replaced with new users

None of these markets were close to being top markets.

I mean there are still new users everyday on the darknet, but with all these scammers, the beginners are maybe losing interest in the darknet

darknet is always growing, but you can't see it, because you believe all have sth to hide and hiding in darkness of darknet.

the darknet is much less centralized, so it's more difficult to actually gauge how active it is services appear, and reappear much faster than on the clearnet I don't think we're experiencing as much of a decline as you think we are; it's just the order of things changing although there has been a weird influx of market exits over the last year or so

Markets exit scam when they have enough $, suggesting that buisiness has been good lately. But then with all the mistrust who knows what will happen going forward.

Markets exit when they feel under the threat of someone more powerful than them.... law enforcement in most cases.

"Where it was" which I'm assuming you mean peak lockdown. We have jobs outside the DarkNet dude, and I think you should too

In my humble opinion, folks that are knowledgeable or finding other sources of income working for big tech or startups, etc. so an ideal situation you have a source of income that's really much gonna happen until retirement. You and your family is provided for and you're not doing anything that could possibly get you arrested. I think there's a clear separation of seizure versus exit. The more markets that get seized the less interest as a result, the more sites that exit and steal peoples money means that their staff in administration is not hireable at all anywhere in this world. Negativity aside, I think we all need to be patient. as there is a new class folks that are way over educated and unfortunately the job market is so saturated. It's hard to find places to work and it's not getting better. It's getting worse with introduction of automation, AI technologies and so forth is putting peoples jobs at risk. Also, there's been some pretty hefty layoffs over the past few years which hurts a lot, especially if you have a family. I think very soon we're gonna see an uptick and activity and folks launching sites and coming up with new technology to help support them. The idea of the free market and enterprise still means a lot to people unfortunately you have to jump through a couple more hoops, then say Amazon prime but the end of the day it's worth it because it's very honest and trustworthy people in this universe and for what I have seen folks that are not, are the exception not the norm.

Being very honest, I could've re-organized my thoughts a little bit better sorry for the shorthand this morning.
