As you might have noticed, today we received a cell attack which took the mirror offline. While we still haven't relaunched the main Dread address as we need to complete changes to the load balancing to support the new Proof-of-work defenses, we have now implemented a patch to our Tor processes as a temporary measure of supporting PoW for the g66 mirror.

PoW access requires a recent Tor Browser release and anyone wishing to access the site will need to have upgraded. There is sure to be a huge portion of users who have yet to update, which is also extremely important due to security fixes. I am mostly looking at Tails users here, who haven't upgraded their Tails for a while and will lack PoW support, since Tor Browser updates are not possible within the OS. These users will not be able to access Dread going forward. We will no longer be supporting outdated TBB versions and running only with PoW defenses from this point onwards, so spread the word, update your shit!

Also, whoever is behind the attack is likely related to a marketplace in response to my assistance with communicating Bohemia market's on-going issues, you need to realize that this is not me trying to help them specifically, but rather help the user base, as I would do if your market was in the same position. Congratulations, your attack achieved what... 4 hours of downtime? Amazing.
