the best giftcode use case is actually for returning customers and/or as some kind of compensation if customers are not totally happy with an order, it took too long or whatever reason. cases in which a reship is too much but you still want to make up for any inconvenience for example. giftcodes can be limited to certin timeframes and/or uses. if a customer uses the same code 10 times and it all goes to the same address its easy to prevent and if the customer really gets 10 different drops and jump through hoops to get this promotion well then so it'll be. Its not fair for other customers but since I issued 10 codes it doesn't make a difference to me. Another example: I want to offer 30% OFF - all powders up to 10g - all pills up to 500 - all solutions up to 10 bottles only on monopoly for lets say a month in order to generate some traffic. now I could change prices for that month of course but it always takes time to do so especially if you have a lot of listings and if you plan to offer promotions every week or so. a giftcode that could be generated for unlimited use and valid for one month 1 month would be a few clicks. even better if we could limit it to certain amounts since margins are getting a lot smaller on bulk orders. not to forget the promotional use of giftcodes. they can be given out on other platforms as kind of a marketing strategy. I would like to send out giftcodes for monopoly to customers of our private shop when they place an order.
